The log grapple is usually composed of parts such as a mechanical arm, grapple claws, and a hydraulic system.

1.Mechanical arm: Connected to the arm of an excavator, it can achieve movements of different angles and amplitudes to reach the position of the target material.

2.Grab claw: Generally made of high-strength steel, it has good wear resistance and gripping force. The shape and design of the grab claw vary according to different gripping needs. Some are double-clawed, and some are multi-clawed, which can better adapt to materials of different shapes and sizes.

3.Hydraulic system: Provide power for the log grapple. Pressure oil is provided by the hydraulic pump of the excavator to drive the opening and closing of the grapple claws and the movement of the mechanical arm. The performance of the hydraulic system directly affects the working efficiency and stability of the log grapple.

operating principle

When the excavator driver operates the control handle, the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system is transported to the hydraulic cylinder of the log grapple, pushing the gripper to open or close. When the gripper contacts the material, the material is tightly grasped by the pressure of the hydraulic system. Then, the excavator can transport the grasped material to the designated location for stacking or loading and unloading through the mechanical arm.
