Quick Hitch / Quick Coupler / Quick Connector: These are generally synonymous. They refer to a mechanical device that allows an excavator operator to change attachments (bucket, grapple, breaker, etc.) in seconds from the cab, without leaving the machine. The standard types are:
Mechanical (Manual Safety Pin): Requires the operator to manually insert/remove a safety pin.
Hydraulic (Automatic Locking): Engages/disengages the attachment entirely via hydraulics from the cab. This is the modern standard for efficiency and safety.
180-Degree (or more) Tilt: This refers to the ability to tilt the attached tool side-to-side. A standard excavator bucket can only curl (rotate on one axis). A tilt function adds a second axis of movement.
A "Tilt Coupler" is a specific type of quick coupler that adds this function, but typically with a limited range (e.g., 45 degrees left and right).
A "Tiltrotator" or "Rototilt" provides full, continuous 360-degree rotation PLUS up to 45+ degrees of tilt in either direction. This is what truly gives you that "180-degree" (and beyond) positioning capability.
